Service is the overflow of discipleship. It seeks to extend God’s grace and mercy to others for His glory and not our own. We serve as an expression of love and as a stewardship of grace, marked by humility, generosity, and hospitality. A maturing disciple of Jesus Christ is one who begins and continues to serve inside and outside the body. Serving within the body is accomplished when a disciple discovers his or her spiritual gift and begins to develop and use that gift in the context of the body. Whether seeking opportunities to serve full time or being a support to those individuals, it is up to us to discover how God would best use us for His glory.
We have several service teams that provide folks with the opportunity to test, develop, and master their spiritual gifts by serving inside the body. We also encourage disciples to seek service opportunities outside the body. It is when we are serving the world around us that we will most likely be able to build relationships with those who have not yet become disciples.
